The 2017 State Fair of Texas® opens on Friday, September 29 and runs through Sunday, October 22. Purchase your DART transit passes and State Fair of Texas general admission tickets all within DART's GoPass app and save $2 versus buying at the gate. The fair kicks off with the annual Opening Day Parade downtown Friday at noon. Remember to activate your GoPass tickets the day of your visit to the State Fair of Texas. Also this week, ride DART to: Main Street Market Event in Downtown Rowlett, a free event featuring vendors, food trucks, and live music as well as fun for the kids; a free screening of The Lego Batman Movie in Downtown Carrollton, part of the Movie on the Square series; Bolero Texas, inspired by Maurice Ravel's iconic score, features a cast drawn from more than 50 members of the community in collaboration with KEIGWIN + COMPANY at the Irving Arts Center; Take Me to the River, a live performance experience at Strauss Square in the Dallas Arts District with iconic Memphis and Mississippi Delta musicians including William Bell, Bobby Rush and Charlie Musselwhite, backed by an all-star Memphis band; and The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Convention takes place at the Omni Dallas Hotel, bringing together thousands of Hispanic business owners, executives and members of more than 200 local Hispanic chambers of commerce. In Fort Worth: Ride TRE and The T's bus route 2, 7 or 57 to 'Casanova: The Seduction of Europe' at the Kimbell Art Museum.
