Celebrate the grand opening of the Blue Line extension to South Oak Cliff! New destinations. New DART service. Discover where you now can go with the expansion of the Blue Line into South Oak Cliff. A Community Fun Day will take place at the new Camp Wisdom Station on Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy food trucks, a trackless train, face painting and local music. Learn how to live healthier and prepare for the next career opportunity. Representatives from higher education institutions, including the University of North Texas at Dallas and Paul Quinn College, will be on site to engage with current and prospective students. The Blue Line extension provides improved DART service to an area of Dallas known as the Education Corridor. The 2016 State Fair of Texas® ends this Sunday, October 23. Purchase your DART transit passes and State Fair of Texas general admission tickets all within DART's GoPass app and save $2 versus buying at the gate. Remember to activate your GoPass tickets the day of your visit to the State Fair of Texas. Note regarding State Fair of Texas: On Friday, Oct. 21, gates 5 and 6 will close at 8:30 p.m. and the remaining gates will close at 9 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 23, ticket sales close at 9 p.m. Also this week, ride DART to: the 29th edition of the Dallas VideoFest with screenings at Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station; Prelude: A Preview of Aurora 2017 featuring 10 massive art installations of light, video and sound from around the world throughout the AT&T Performing Arts Center campus; Bertrand Neighborhood Association's monthly market located across the street from Hatcher Station, bringing together the best local entrepreneurs to share their wares with you; Pumpkins on the Plaza at Dallas City Hall Plaza, a free, family-friendly Halloween carnival and Glow Party on the Plaza; Movie on the Square in Downtown Carrollton presenting a special Double Feature: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966) followed by Ghostbusters (1984); and the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas Buddy Walk®, including not just a one-mile "fun walk" but a day of activities and fun for the entire family at the AT&T Plaza at Victory Park. In Fort Worth: Ride TRE and The T's bus route 2, 7 or 57 to "Monet: The Early Years" exhibit at the Kimbell Art Museum.
