The 2015 State Fair of Texas® runs through Sunday, October 18. Purchase your DART transit passes and State Fair of Texas general admission tickets all within DART's GoPass app and save $2 versus buying at the gate.
The State Fair of Texas is once again partnering with Canstruction, a unique charity that hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. After its successful run in 2014, Canstruction returns as a featured exhibit, where all structures will be created in line with this year's State Fair theme, "Passport to Texas." At the end of the competition, all canned food will be donated to the North Texas and Tarrant Area Food Banks. The exhibit will be held in the Science Place building and will be on display daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Also this week, ride DART to "Matilda The Musical" at the Winspear Opera House; Women of Faith at American Airlines Center; the Epiphany DanceArts modern dance performance "DIAMONDS" at the Eisemann Center; the WaterTower Theatre's world premiere presentation of "Creep" at the Addison Theatre Centre; Dallas Black Dance Theatre's DanceAfrica performances at the Dallas City Performance Hall and Festival at the Annette Strauss Square in the AT&T Performing Arts Center; Cottonwood Art Festival, a semi-annual event featuring works from the nation's top visual artists located in scenic Cottonwood Park in Richardson; Smoked Dallas, a deliciously curated Music and BBQ Festival at Main Street Garden; SMU Mustangs vs. East Carolina Pirates football game on the field at Gerald J. Ford Stadium on the SMU campus; Richardson Symphony Orchestra's season opening performance featuring Gabriela Martinez on piano at the Eisemann Center; and the 25th Annual AIDS Arms LifeWalk and festival at Lee Park.
Come join DART Police for their 5th annual National Night Out on Tuesday, October 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DART'S Illinois Station. The event provides an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to interact with DART police officers and fare enforcement officers in an informal setting. Free information and giveaways, along with music and face painting will be provided to entertain all in attendance. Visit www.DART.org/news for more information.
