Ride DART to the annual Older Americans Month Information and Health Fair, a free event for seniors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 7 at Centennial Hall in Fair Park.
Also this week, ride DART to: the final days of The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science; "Newsies", the smash-hit, crowd-pleasing musical from Disney at the Winspear Opera House in the AT&T Performing Arts Center; the SOLUNA International Music & Arts Festival, a three-week festival that showcases internationally-acclaimed guest soloists, artists and ensembles in visual and performing arts along with the leading companies and ensembles in the Dallas Arts District and beyond; Hayes Carll in performance at the Plano Courtyard Theater, part of the Courtyard Texas Music Series 2015; Fair Park Sparks!, a free outdoor family festival featuring live music, "dancing water" shows at the Esplanade Fountain, roving entertainers, concessions, food trucks and more; the Downtown Garland Cinco de Mayo festival featuring live entertainment that will include Mariachis and Folklorico dancers; the Homegrown Music and Arts Festival, Dallas' local music and arts outdoor festival at The Bomb Factory, 2713 Canton St.; Irving's 5th Annual Bicycle Fest at the Old Lumberyard, a free event with general bicycling information, basic on-the-spot bicycle checks, live music by the Boxcar Bandits, food trucks and more; the Richardson Symphony Orchestra in concert at the Eisemann Center featuring a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 with the UNT Grand Chorus; or the Lone Star Youth Winds in performance with world-renowned composer Frank Ticheli in a Mother's Day celebration at the Eisemann Center.
In Fort Worth: Ride the TRE and The T's bus route 2, 7 or 57 to the Collection of Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass, a selection of Impressionist to postWorld War II paintings and sculptures in the Renzo Piano Pavilion at the Kimbell Art Museum. Note: there is no TRE service on Sundays.
In Denton: Ride DART and the DCTA A-train to Twilight Tunes, with concerts every Thursday evening through July 2nd on the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn in downtown Denton.
