Ride DART to: Downtown Plano Art & Wine Walk, a sip and shop event where participants get to sample selected wines at their favorite shops in Downtown Plano while enjoying live music, curated art exhibitions, and special discounts (Apr. 12); Driving Miss Daisy, a classic of American theater and winner of the Pulitzer Prize, on stage at the Eisemann Center (Apr. 12-16); WaterTower Theatre's presentation of Bread, a world premiere play by award-winning Dallas-born actress and playwright Regina Taylor at the Addison Theatre Centre (Apr. 13-May 6); City of Garland's free Film Noir Festival with classic movies like Detour, The Stranger and The Big Sleep at the Plaza Theatre in downtown Garland (Apr. 13-15); The Boho Market at the Shed in the Dallas Farmers Market, where offerings tend toward the artsy in addition to live music and food stalls (Apr. 14); Old 97's County Fair, an annual tradition at Main Street Garden Park that is part county fair, part indie festival, and has lots of comfort food and carnival games - even a Ferris wheel - along with the great music (Apr. 14); a free concert and open house at Moody Performance Hall in celebration of Dallas Jazz Appreciation Month (D'JAM) (Apr. 14); celebrate Garland's rich history at Hats Off to Garland, the fifth annual Garland Heritage Celebration on the historic Downtown Square (Apr. 14); Changing Perspectives Block Party in the Dallas Arts District, a free block party featuring live performances, live speed painting and more (Apr. 14); and Carrollton's free Concert on the Square featuring Ashmore, a throwback to the British and Southern rock roots that once made rock 'n roll great (Apr. 14). In Fort Worth: Ride the TRE and Trinity Metro's bus route 2, 7 or 57 to the Commanding Space: Women Sculptors of Texas exhibit at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Note: No TRE service on Sundays. (Through Nov. 18) In Lewisville: Ride DART and the DCTA A-train on Saturday to Lewisville's ColorPalooza, a free, colorful and artistic event with various opportunities to showcase your artistic abilities while watching others showcase theirs.
