Ride DART to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events including: MLK Celebration Fair and MLK Candlelight Ceremony at the MLK Recreation Center in Dallas; Carrollton's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade, sponsored by Christ Community Connections, Inc. in partnership with the City of Carrollton and C-FB ISD; 29th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and March in Downtown Garland hosted by the NAACP Garland, Texas Unit; 2018 Collin County MLK Shades of Unity March, part of Plano's MLK Celebration; the annual Dallas MLK Parade beginning at the intersection of Holmes Street and MLK Boulevard and continuing to Fair Park; and Forward Together: 13th Annual MLK Symposium presented by The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture at the Moody Performance Hall, featuring Keynote Speaker Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II. Note: DART Rail, buses and the TRE will operate a regular weekday schedule on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 15, 2018. Other events this week include: Penguin Days at the Dallas Zoo, bringing back a cool deal this winter, offering $7 admission through Feb. 28; Shen Yun, pushing the boundaries of performing arts to connect the audience with the culture of ancient China at two locations, Winspear Opera House in the AT&T Performing Arts Center and at the Music Hall at Fair Park; and Jurassic Quest, a dinosaur adventure featuring more than 80 ultra-realistic, life-size animatronic dinosaurs in the Automobile Building at Fair Park. In Fort Worth: Ride the TRE and The T's bus route 2, 7 or 57 to the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, a 23-day extravaganza at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. Note: No TRE service on Sundays. In Denton: Ride DART, the DCTA A-train and DCTA Connect Route 2, 7 or 8 to the all-day Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Monday in Denton.
