Ride DART to: Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot, the traditional way to begin Thanksgiving Day for many in Dallas featuring a 5K fun run and an eight-mile course; Dallas Theater Center's A Christmas Carol, a family favorite returning to the Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center; Chamberlain Performing Arts presentation of The Nutcracker at the Eisemann Center, featuring New York City Ballet Principal Dancers Tiler Peck and Tyler Angle; Climb for Community in the Cotton Bowl Stadium, presented by the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl and hosted by The Guns and Hoses Foundation of North Texas; 70's Soul Jam featuring The Whispers, The Chi-Lites and The Delfonics at the Majestic Theatre; Holly Jolly Holidays at Reunion Tower, where Santa and his elves are spreading holiday cheer with weekly trips to the GeO-Deck; the Dallas Zoo's must-see holiday event, Dallas Zoo Lights Presented by Reliant; Holiday Wonder Dallas, a new, unforgettable, family-friendly event featuring an outdoor, walk-through winter wonderland in Fair Park; and The Trains at NorthPark benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, one of the city's premier holiday traditions. Service alert: DART buses and light rail trains will operate on a Sunday schedule Thurs., Nov. 23, and a Saturday schedule Fri., Nov. 24. The TRE will not operate on Thanksgiving Day and will operate Saturday service on Friday. In Fort Worth, ride TRE and The T's bus route 2, 7 or 57 to 'Casanova: The Seduction of Europe' at the Kimbell Art Museum. Note: no TRE service on Sundays. In Denton, ride DCTA A-train to Denton Community Market Holiday Market Day, where you can celebrate another successful Market season and find great Holiday gifts from local vendors during the extended hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
