Ride DART this Thanksgiving week to fun family events and classic holiday performances, including: the Dallas Zoo's annual fall Dollar Day on Wednesday, featuring $1 admission and dollar deals - take the Red Line to Dallas Zoo Station to avoid the traffic and parking; the 49th Annual Turkey Trot starting at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day in Downtown Dallas and after the Turkey Trot, top off your turkey day at Reunion Tower - on Thursday, the Reunion Tower GeO-Deck will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; the Dallas Theater Center's presentation of "A Christmas Carol" at the Wyly Theatre; "Rudolph: The Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical," presented by Dallas Summer Musicals at the Music Hall at Fair Park; Texas Ballet Theatre's presentation of "The Nutcracker" at the Winspear Opera House; "Cinderella - The Musical" presented by the Garland Civic Theatre at the Granville Arts Center in Downtown Garland; "Ebenezer Scrooge," the Pocket Sandwich Theatre's own musical rendition of Charles Dickens's beloved classic; the Chamberlain Performing Arts' production of "The Nutcracker" featuring performances by New York City Ballet principal dancers Tiler Peck and Tyler Angle at the Eisemann Center in Richardson; and the opening of the Farmers Branch Christmas Tour of Lights on Friday that go through the Farmers Branch Historical Park.
Service alert: DART buses and light rail trains will operate on a Sunday schedule Thursday, Nov. 24 and a Saturday schedule Friday, Nov. 25, while the TRE will not operate on Thanksgiving Day and will follow a regular schedule Friday.
In Fort Worth: Ride TRE and The T's bus routes 1, 10, 15, 17, 46, and Molly the Trolley to visit Santa Claus in Sundance Square. Bring the entire family and spend a delightful and festive day in Sundance Square. Note: No TRE service on Sundays.
In Denton: Ride DART and the DCTA A-train on Saturday to the last Denton Community Market of the season in Downtown Denton.
