The 2016 State Fair of Texas® opens on Friday, September 30 and runs through Sunday, October 23. On Saturday, October 1, the Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic football game kicks off at 4 p.m. Since the 1980's, the Grambling Tigers and Prairie View A&M Panthers have traveled to Dallas during the State Fair to go head-to-head at Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Also this week, ride DART to: 2016 Kelloggs Tour of Gymnastics Champions at American Airlines Center; the Greater Dallas Walk to End Alzheimer's at the Lawn at Reunion; Cottonwood Art Festival featuring local bands performing the best in rock, country, jazz, blues, swing and folk and and a juried art show featuring works from approximately 240 national artists at Cottonwood Park in Richardson; and Plano International Festival offering an array of ethnic cuisines, multicultural music and dance performances, cultural displays, a Fitness and Wellness Fair and more in Downtown Plano's Haggard Park.
Come join DART Police for National Night Out on Tuesday, October 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DART'S Illinois Station. The event provides an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to interact with DART police officers and fare enforcement officers in an informal setting. Free information and giveaways, along with music and face painting will be provided to entertain all in attendance.
