Ride DART to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events including: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. parade and march in Downtown Garland hosted by the NAACP Garland, Texas Unit; Irving's Day of Service and Safety Rally at the Georgia Farrow Recreation Center; Carrollton's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade, sponsored by Christ Community Connections, Inc. in partnership with the City of Carrollton; Dallas Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Community Celebration; and Community Unity Walk: "Together We Are the Village," part of Plano's MLK Celebration. Note: DART Rail, buses and the TRE will operate a regular weekday schedule on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 18, 2016. Route 2, 11, 12, 26, 35, and 409 bus riders should prepare for detours during the Dallas Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Monday. Other events this week include: the final days of "International Pop," an exhibit that chronicles the global emergence of Pop in the 1960s and early 1970s at the Dallas Museum of Art; Uptown Players and the Turtle Creek Chorale (TCC) joining together to present a concert version of "Aida" at the Dallas City Performance Hall; Garland Symphony Orchestra in performance with guest Brent Buemi on the clarinet and guest conductor Jin Hyoun Baek; Late Night at the Dallas Museum of Art; the Nature Connects LEGO™ Brick Art Sculptures on display at the Dallas Zoo; the Hotcake Hustle 10K, 5K and Fun Run starting at the Addison Conference Centre; and "America's Tenor" Steve Amerson joining Hector Guzman and the Plano Symphony in an evening of vocal fireworks at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. In Fort Worth: Ride the TRE and The T's bus route 2, 7 or 57 to the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, a 23-day extravaganza at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. Note: No TRE service on Sundays. In Denton: Ride DART and the DCTA A-train to the UNT on the Square Gallery exhibition "Around Again" by Denton artist Annette Lawrence in Downtown Denton.
