Celebrate the birth of our nation at any of several larger-than-life fireworks displays and Independence Day events throughout the DART Service Area. DART will get your family to and from the festivities in air-conditioned comfort. Here's a sampling of the summer's biggest parties. Friday, July 3: Addison Kaboom Town at Addison Circle Park; Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration at the Farmers Branch Historical Park; and the Plano Community Band's "Patriotic Pops" at Haggard Park in Downtown Plano. Saturday, July 4: Irving Independence Day Parade in the Heritage District; Rowlett Freedom 5K on Main in Downtown Rowlett; Star-Spangled Spectacular at Firewheel Town Center in Garland; Fair Park Fourth in Fair Park; Irving Independence Day Fireworks Show in the Las Colinas Urban Center; the Dallas 7/4 races in Fair Park; Star-Spangled Spectacular! with the Dallas Wind Symphony at the Meyerson Symphony Center; or The Singapore Slingers Celebrate America at the Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff. Service Note: DART buses and light rail will operate on a Saturday schedule Friday, July 3. A Sunday schedule will be observed on both Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5. Trinity Railway Express trains will be on a modified Saturday schedule July 3. There will be no TRE service Saturday or Sunday. In Fort Worth: Ride the TRE and The T's Safari Shuttle bus on Friday, July 3 to the Fort Worth Zoo. (The T's Safari Shuttle will operate on Friday, July 3 but will not operate on Saturday, July 4.) Ride the TRE and the T's bus route 2 or 7 on Friday, July 3 to Red, White & Blues at the Modern Museum of Fort Worth. Note: On Friday, July 3, TRE operates a modified Saturday schedule and The T's bus services operate on a Saturday schedule. TRE does not operate Saturday or Sunday. In Denton: Ride DART and the DCTA A-train to hear Boom Bachs, part of the Thursday night Twilight Tunes concert series in Downtown Denton. Note: DCTA will not operate any bus or rail service on Saturday, July 4.
