Ride DART to Big D NYE on New Year's Eve in AT&T Plaza at the American Airlines Center in Victory Park. DART Rail has a regular weekday schedule until midnight. Trains will then run every 30 minutes until 2 a.m. TRE will be on a regular weekday schedule, but an extra westbound TRE train will leave 20 minutes after the Big D NYE fireworks at Victory Station.
Ride DART to the final weekend of The Trains at NorthPark located on level one near Nordstrom's at NorthPark Center and The 12 Days of Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum.
Other events this week include the 2014 PlainsCapital Bank Battle of the Bands featuring the Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band and the Baylor University Golden Wave Band; the Blue Man Group in performance at the Winspear Opera House in the AT&T Performing Arts Center; the opening weekend of the Dallas Theater Center's presentation of "The Book Club Play" at the Kalita Humphreys Theater; or Target First Saturday at the Nasher Sculpture Center featuring the January Big Idea: Experience and the Art Project: "My Life" Timelines.
If you are looking for a family outing on New Year's Day, don't miss the exhibit Bouquets: French Still-Life Painting from Chardin to Matisse at the Dallas Museum of Art. Co-organized by the DMA and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the exhibition showcases approximately 60 floral still lifes that highlight the well-established painting genre in France during the 1800s. Half price tickets with your DART pass: Bouquets tickets are just $4 when you bring your valid DART ticket or show your GoPass ticket at the DMA Visitor Services desk through February 8, 2015.
Holiday Service Reminder: On Thursday, January 1, DART buses and light rail are on a Sunday schedule. There is no TRE or DCTA A-train service.
In Fort Worth: Ride TRE to New Year's Eve Countdown to 2015 in Sundance Square Plaza. Note: On New Year's Eve, TRE will be operating a regular weekday schedule. A special Eastbound train will depart the ITC Station 30 minutes after the conclusion of the event in Sundance Square Plaza. This special train will run too late to allow any transfer to other transit.
The T will operate its Cowboys Coach bus shuttles for the 2015 Goodyear Cotton Bowl game on Thursday, January 1, traveling from Fort Worth T&P Station Park & Ride to AT&T Stadium. $10 round-trip tickets must be purchased for cash only on site at the T&P Station prior to boarding. Transit passes are not valid for Cowboys Coach shuttles. The cost to park at T&P Station for Cowboys Coach is $5 cash per vehicle.
On January 2, ride TRE and The T's bus route 7 to the 2015 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl featuring the Houston Cougars vs. the Pittsburgh Panthers at Amon G. Carter Stadium, on the campus of TCU.
In Denton: Ride DART and the DCTA A-train to enjoy exploring Downtown Denton's historic Courthouse-on-the-Square. Note: there is no A-train service on Sundays.
